Kaulayaw Cafe
In Antipolo, Rizal, there is a growing locally owned restaurant and hangout called Kaulayaw Café or just Kaulayaw. Numerous residents and visitors come to the three-level structure along Sumulong Highway for stunning vistas, amazing sunsets, and fun. Given how romantic the situation is, the Tagalog word “Kaulayaw,” which means someone’s buddy, is a fitting nickname.
The phrase “Ethically sourced, locally grown” was coined by the business’s founders to express their commitment to supporting regional farmers and suppliers. Much like the restaurant’s name, the majority of the items on the menu bear Filipino nouns and adjectives, including Makisig, Dalisay, Paraluman, Pagsamo, Sinta, Magyon, and Hiraya, among others.
The ideal time to travel here is on weekdays during the late afternoon, just in time for supper and the sun setting. To put it mildly, this sunset scene is breathtaking. The café has a view over Metro Manila and the verdant area between. It’s also magnificent in the morning and the evening, but as the day turns into the night when the sinking sun paints the skies in hues of pink, purple, and orange, it becomes truly spectacular. You will be able to enjoy the scenery all day, at sunset, and at night because of this.

Vieux Chalet
Hidden in Antipolo lies a little piece of Switzerland called Vieux Chalet. To provide city dwellers with a vacation from their hectic lives, Tony Hassig, a Swiss guy, and his Filipino wife Susan opened the inn in 1984. The restaurant’s cozy size is ideal for getting lost in private talks. Many of the paintings on the walls were created by Susan. The city below may be seen clearly from the window tables as well, especially in the evening.
Without a doubt, the meal is Swiss. Tony intended to provide Filipino-inspired Swiss cuisine. Initially, Vieux Chalet had its own milking cows, which produced fresh dairy. Since then, they have sold their cattle and now get their dairy from other sources, but they still make everything else themselves. When dining here, don’t anticipate store-bought bread because everything is made from scratch.
